Mobile shopping app allows consumers to find out the best deals, compare products and prices and pay for their purchases at the checkout extensions with their phone.
Flipkart has folded up its mobile site, which forces customers to rely on the mobile app for browsing or even purchasing anything on the move. And while Amazon become app-only e-commerce portals, they are offering special discounts to customers via their shopping app.
Today, in my post, I will analyze the m-commerce competition between Amazon and Flipkart and show you the way they offer almost anything from home appliances and books and footwear.
Amazon Shopping – A Multi-Function Mobile Shopping App
In the first time you login, it asks you some information to sign in. However, you can skip this step. The interface of the app is quite similar to the Amazon’s home page. There are best sellers and deals of the day. There is also a menu option at the top that can take viewed items, allows user to shop by department, check wish list and access recommendations. With a single click, which makes navigation really become simple. Consumer can also use the search bar when looking for a product. With Filter tools that work in real time, user can switch between list view and grid view. When a product is selected, it takes 15-20 seconds to load the detailed information. The shopping experience on Amazon app is pleasant. You can add items in the cart and proceed to checkout. But it is always recommended to read reviews about the product as well as the seller – in some cases the seller has not been found to dispatch the order. In the latest version, Amazon‘s Mobile shopping app is integrated a smart feature that can support consumers search for product with their voice.
Flipkart’s mobile shopping app flips a Finger at buyers
A survey claimed, the size of the phone screen, makes the product seem better and products that were never purchased if there aren’t any promotions were brought with rapidity. So, in order to enhance the shopper experience, Flipkart move towards by building an app-only shopping. Flipkart is forced to battle it out with Amazon but forcing customers to migrate onto the mobile platform will take away the comfort of choice. Flipkart also joined Airtel Zero, where customer won’t have to pay data charges when shopping on their phone. After much protest from its customers and a huge social media backlash. The team would like to forward its appreciation of flipkart’s gesture. I hope other companies would follow suit and keep our internet neutral. The biggest controversy against Flipkarts decision to back out is that foreign players still flaunt net neutrality, but there isn’t much protest against them. When smaller companies are forced to back out, bigger corporations claim monopoly.
In most cases, you can see that almost of shopper unlike offline retail so selling goods to the e-commerce portals is very necessary. M-commerce competition is still ongoing, the winner is who give customer best-optimized experiences. If you are not going e-commerce system including mobile shopping site and mobile shopping app for your business, you will lose the good chance to competitor who are.
